The Full Story

My Design
Journal

I started with a wall.

I moved to paper.

Then garments.

Then screens.

Now I'm exploring new kinds of canvases.

I don't know exactly where the next one will take me.

And that's probably the part I'm most curious about.

Chapter 01 - The Wall

I drew before I knew
what design was.

Tom & Jerry. Popeye. Characters I couldn't stop drawing.

I didn't know anything about design.

I draw things on walls.

My parents eventually moved me from walls to sketchbooks.

Looking back, that might have been my first design education. I didn't know it then, but I was learning to notice.

Chapter 02 - Learning to Make

Fine Art taught me
how to create.

Four years of Applied Art taught me colour, typography, illustration, advertising and visual communication.

Then came my children's paper-toy project.

I knew how to make something.

But one question stayed with me:

Why am I making this?

That question took me to NID.

Chapter 03 - The Question

I arrived wanting to become a better designer.

Instead, I started questioning what design was supposed to do.

At NID, I stopped looking only at the thing being designed.

I started looking at the person experiencing it.

Observe → Question → Understand → Design → Test

That shift was small on paper. For me, it changed everything.

Chapter 04 - Looking Closer

I started with clothes. Then I started looking around them

My graduation project explored kidswear safety.

Children. Parents. Materials. Garments. Behaviour. Safety.

The more I researched, the less interested I became in simply making the garment look good. I wanted to understand the experience around it. Don't rush to design the answer. First understand the question.

Chapter 05 - A New Canvas

Paper became
pixels.

Eventually, I moved from designing physical things to designing digital experiences.

The question changed again:

How can I make this experience better?

Today, I work across research, UX strategy, interaction design, systems and product design - turning complex problems into experiences that make sense to people.

Different canvas. Same curiosity.

Chapter 06 - Designing Experiences

The Tools Changed,
My curiosity didn't.

Now I'm exploring AI.

I'm experimenting with how AI can change the way we research, imagine, prototype and create.

I'm still figuring out what this new canvas can become.

And that's what makes it interesting.

What happens when human curiosity meets machine capability?

Chapter 07 - Still Curious

I'm still drawing.
Still questioning.
Still making.
Still noticing.

Somewhere between art, design, nature and AI, I'm still looking for the next thing that makes me curious.

I started with a wall.

I wonder what the next canvas will be.
